Pigeon Guano Cleaning
"Help!! We need our scaffold cleaned"
Our regular client Conxim scaffold reach out with a serious issue on their site. The scaffold had been erected for some time allowing build up of pigeon mess to accumulate on the surface. Their team now needed to dismantle the scaffold but in its current state this was unsafe.
Pigeon guano on scaffolding poses significant health and safety risks. It contains harmful bacteria, fungi, and parasites that can cause serious respiratory infections such as histoplasmosis and psittacosis. The accumulation of guano also makes surfaces slippery, increasing the risk of falls and accidents for workers. Additionally, the acidic nature of pigeon droppings can damage scaffolding materials over time, compromising structural integrity. Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential to mitigate these dangers and ensure a safe working environment.
Our team arrived a site with all relevant PPE, suits, gloves, masks and googles - to clean and sanitise the entire scaffold structure using a specialist sanitising product specifically formulated to act on bird waste.
The scaffold was successfully cleaned and made safe for the team to dismantle.
All in a days work for the T&H deep clean dream team!
